On 17 May 2019, Solar turned 100 years. During those years, we have changed our role in the value chain several times. Through all the years, Solar has had a distinct courage to seek out uncharted territory and never been afraid to challenge our customers to create new markets.
We commemorated the jubilee throughout 2019 by telling the story of Solar and our role as a creator of change. More specifically, we published an article each month of the anniversary year, marking different points of impact.
In the article series, we have focused on highlights in Solar’s history where we took a new direction and made big changes to our business. This could for example be radio manufacturing, lamp production, development of new business areas or penetration of a new geographical market.
